HOW IT WORKS

Design it Forward Kentucky goes virtual.

This year we're inviting our neighbors in Indiana, Tennessee, Ohio, and West Virginia.

  • Students will form teams, no more than 3 students per team, 1 person teams are OK too

  • Schools may have up to 3 teams per college/university

  • Creative brief will be announced the night before competition begins

  • Teams will have most of the day on Friday to brand the client and prepare a presentation

  • Professional creatives will be on-hand during the day of the event to serve as mentors and will check in with all teams and give objective feedback throughout the day; this year we will have "Zoom Checkpoints" so students can log on and receive feedback

  • Each team will have 5 minutes to present their final solutions to the judges

Thursday, September 23rd

EVENT KICKOFF

We'll tune in live via Zoom for a quick meet 'n greet, competition overview, and we'll announce the client brief. All participants must be present for kickoff. Please make sure there is at least 1 member from your team present--all members of your team are encouraged to attend.

Friday, September 24th

9:00 AM - 10:00 AM (EST)

GAME ON!

All systems go! Teams break out into Face to Face or vitrtual workspaces on their own. Ideation and sketch time.

10:00 AM - 11:00 AM (EST)

FULL STEAM AHEAD

Design and creation time.

12:30 PM - 1:30 PM (EST)

LUNCH/MENTOR CHECK-IN

Fuel those creative juices! Lunch on your own!

Check in with Mentors via Zoom. We'll use break out rooms to pair you with mentors so each group has privacy.

1:30 PM - 3:30 PM (EST)

AFTERNOON CRAM SESH

Finalize design decisions and prep required items. Be sure to double check that brief!

4:00 PM - 5:00 PM (EST)

FINALIZE ITEMS

Wrapping up/final touches. Upload all files and final presentation and get ready to present!

FINAL PRESENTATIONS/JUDGING

Each team will present live via Zoom to our judges. Time slots will be assigned prior to the event.

Join us for a brief gathering and announcement of the winners. All teams are encouraged to attend.

*Please note that final announcement of winners will depend on the amount of teams we have participating. This time may be updated closer to the event.

  • Students may register themselves, but please register as ONE team

  • You may register multiple teams at once, but please specify that in the # of students area
